Privacy, in plain language.
Different tools have different boundaries. An encrypted note, an image processor and a conversation do not handle information in the same way.
Encryption by service

HTTPS protects the connection to a service. It does not by itself mean that the service cannot read what you send. Open source makes implementation inspectable; it is not a guarantee of an independent audit.
Browsing & analytics
The public portal uses self-hosted usage statistics and an interaction recorder on selected public pages. These services may process technical information such as page addresses, referrers, device details and network information, as well as masked navigation, clicks and scrolling.
The portal does not load these analytics or recording scripts on application, contact, private-offer, DRK Note or site-studio pages. The browser notebook, address input, search input and search results are excluded from recordings on public pages. Analytics are also disabled in the local development preview. Other DRK services have their own policies and configurations.
Visiting a page does not create a contact or conversation. Hosting and network services may retain normal operational request logs.
Approximate location & weather
When local weather is enabled, public pages look up your network address against a private local city database. The weather control receives an approximate city and country; we do not send your address to the forecast provider or store it in a location profile. Rounded coordinates are sent by our server to MET Norway, and forecasts are cached. VPNs and mobile networks can produce an incorrect location. News and search remain global unless you explicitly choose a different scope.
Your browser notebook
The scratchpad stores text in this browser’s local storage. It is not encrypted by this portal and is not synced to a server. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to read it. Use Clear to remove the saved text. Appearance preferences are stored in the same browser.
Search
When you submit a web query, the server passes it to the configured search service and upstream indexes. They may retain queries or technical data under their own settings. Avoid confidential information. The portal does not save search text in its database.
The public trial is limited to one accepted search per network address in 30 days. A keyed hash of the address, a counter and an expiry enforce the allowance. Shared networks can share an allowance. A verification calculation and a daily overall budget limit automated use.
Inquiries & access requests
We store the name, email, service, requested address where relevant, and details you submit so we can review and respond. Requests are reviewed manually and removed when no longer needed. Contact us to request deletion. Submitting a request does not add you to a mailing list.
DRK Mail inquiries communicate your requirements; they never initiate an account, reservation or payment. DRK Snap access requests are for a free subscription and are reviewed before access is granted. Search subscriptions, if offered, have individual terms confirmed before payment. This portal does not collect card details.
Conversations
Only choosing Start a conversation connects this browser to the conversation service. Conversation content is stored there, may be processed to provide a response, and can be read by DRK. A secure session cookie can reconnect a conversation for up to 30 days, but the portal does not resume chat automatically on page load. Pausing chat stops reply polling; it does not delete the conversation.
Feeds, images & external tools
Headlines link to the original publishers. News thumbnails are fetched and cached by this server from selected feeds or publisher previews. Your browser loads them from DRK.IM. A crayon filter may simplify the original image; supplied credit is retained.
The optional photography panel embeds our public image kiosk, so loading it makes a request to that service. Private tools perform their own access checks. A listing here does not create an account or grant access.
